Stalker Shadow

The Monsters and Me

5476716590_b92df447b3_z

Did you think I couldn’t see you

In that car just by the tree

I have seen you there many times

Just sitting waiting for me.

You were there first thing in the morning

Before I started work

Then at lunchtime I could see

In the car park you would lurk.

You followed me whilst shopping

Then followed me to the school

Did you think I couldn’t see you

I’m really not a fool.

When other people noticed

You turned it into a game

I never could have imagined that

My life would never be the same.

Always looking over my shoulder

Watching the car park by that tree

Although you may have gone for now

It seems you still haunt me.

Summer Has Taken Leave….

Tapasmi

Summer Has Taken Leave....

The beautiful, hot, and sunny summer has been replaced by a truly beautiful monsoon in India. Even though the summers here are too hot for some people’s liking, they have their own kind of charm. I got inspired by re-reading Charlotte’s Web, an old classic, to write about the summer taking leave.

The summer has taken leave
The sad truth we have to heave
Watching the birds snuggle and nest
Not a minute to take rest
The flower dancing in joy and class
Bugs and beetles peeking through grass
There’s happiness everywhere
AND SUDDENLY- it isn’t there
The summer has taken leave
The sad truth we have to heave
Chirrup, chirrup, chirrup, we crickets sing.
*
It has left the maples red
The sunshine-eaters quite unfed
Gloom has settled in every nook
Our summer happiness summer has took
We begged her to return for a prize
The cheeky reply- wait…

Beautiful Juxtaposition…

Book to the Future

beneath_the_stars_by_dee_t-d51dfdr

~*~

Silence pervades the cold dark night, in this peace…

I think of you.

I gaze at the stars and their associated wonders.

I think of you

~*~

The last email of my day has flown across the ether,

A sense of melancholy at the broken connection.

A new day beckons, I cannot contain myself,

I should sleep, though it seems a waste when you are in my world.

~*~

I sit alone and smile

I think of you.

I dare to dream of realities unrealised

I think of you.

~*~

Sensual beginnings to a day’s end, a beautiful juxtaposition,

A wondrous sense of magic flows in me, ancient and unknowable.

Is this what others understand?

No, not like this…nothing can be like this.

~*~

I think of you.

Which path do you take?

Which path do you take?

That is entirely up to you

Each path has it’s own challenger

 Influencing you whatever you do

Not all pathways are the right ones

But through experience you will see

Finding what is right for you

Then whatever will be will be

You will travel many paths in life

Meeting many people on the way

They all will inspire and influence you

Through their actions and whatever they say

You will know when you have found it

For you will feel it within your heart

For the pathway you have found

Will encourage you to make a new start

Stolen

Raivenne-lations

.
.

The memory of it still lingers
Like sticky nectar on our fingers
Made the more so in summer’s heat
From the vain attempts to sluice
Our chins of honeyed peaches juice
But in a moment replete
Under the fading eye of Sol
We heed the thrill to shun control
The stolen kiss even more sweet

summer kiss

Hopeful Causeways

Thoughts from the Outdoors

secret stream

——————

In these joyous times…

Despite the vastness of the ocean….

The gulf that separates us has grown smaller and smaller….

Until it trickles like a stream….

deep in the forest…

beneath the shade of ancient trees…

Sweet and secretive,

and easy to cross..

to just jump right over….

And walk off…

hand in hand….

Forgetting the dark waters…

That cruelly separated us….

in the first place….

The ghost of you by Gillian Sims

Nature’s Clearing

trailxxxxxxxxxxx

~
We would then remember that summer day
When our lives wound serene along the trail
With all the world around love without fail
Would we understand how simple our way
~
Now recognize we each might contribute
New smiles that could lead quiet minds astray
Needless of concrete, cities while away
Note the autumn grain remains resolute
~
Our lives are one in the summer wind’s sail
Over hills nature’s melodic soft flute
Outside whispers the Earth; her desire’s root
Only in the sweet sounds of night’s prevail
~
See our passionate trio glance the path
Seeks elegance; smirking society’s wrath

The ghost of you

woodsxxxxxxxxx

I saw a ghost

Walking through the woods

Was it you, or

Was it my imagination

Just wanting to,

To see your face

Illuminate the sky,

Whilst I try

To stop

My tears cascading

Like a waterfall

Dripping

Rushing,

Down my face,

I embrace

Your memory,

I follow your footsteps

In the dark wet woods

In the deep of the night,

My heart races

I sharpen my pace

I feed my hunger

My urge,

To see your face,

I follow the memory

I follow the ghost

I’m all alone

With the memory

Of you

Fluttering

ImageThe flutter and flight
Fleeting with wonder
and delight

Curiously watching movement
Studying the path and
trying to find
intent

Rhythm and rapidly
flying about
weaving in
and out

Reminded

That part of me that I’d forgotten

At least in the public eye

Returned for a visit tonight

I’d wished it wouldn’t …

Thought it was safely tucked away

~

We all have a piece

Of our lives

Waiting

Just around the corner

~

How we choose to remember

Is a key to fulfilling

The purpose of recognizing

The human condition

~

See the reality

And walk away

If we are quietly reminded

Somehow we remain there

Replaying the highlights

We no longer wish to see

~

Life happens

We have moments

To choose our direction

We desire to grow

~

Pardon my evasive

Response to your visit

I’ve just worked too hard

To return to your state of mind

~

I do look to truth to guide my way

For honesty, my life breathes today

10 Reasons to Start Today

Bright, shiny objects!

ລາວ: ການຈັດການຕ້ອງເຮັດໃຫ້ດີ

Craig Harper writes:

1. You’ll never have more time than you do right now.

2. Most people procrastinate because of fear, not logic or reason.

3. Unused potential is wasted potential.

4. Planning, thinking and rationalising, is not doing. Life is not a theory.

5. If you start today, a week from now you’ll be in the middle of a change process rather than talking about one.

6. Taking action builds your emotional and psychological muscles.

7. Transformation lives in the application of the information; not the knowing.

8. It won’t be magically easier a week or month from now.

9. The ‘Opportunity Fairy’ isn’t coming any time soon, so you may need to create one of your own (an opportunity, not a fairy).

10. You’ve put it off for long enough.

11. (bonus tip, no extra charge) I can’t be sure but I think people are on to your excuse-making…

Video Verse and Interview: Slamalamadingdong winner, Jessie Giles

Melbourne Spoken Word

Jessie Giles won last month’s Slamalamadingdong Open Slam. Below we present one of her moving pieces, ‘Eye Spy’ and an interview. Jessie will also be featuring at Passionate Tongues in the coming months.

Jessie was introduced to Melbourne’s spoken word community in 2012 through various slams and CPJ workshops, with the guidance of Jacky T and Luka Lesson. Jessie spent most of her teenage years in central Australia in indigenous communities and much of her spoken word draws upon that experience. Since then, she has performed with Stillwaters Storytelling Collective and gone back to Alice Springs with Jacky T and Abe Ape to perform as part of the Wide Open Spaces Festival.
