our fingers brushed
rose in our faces,
quickly glancing away.
When we finally separated,
we kept the charge
nestled in our lungs, and
every time we took a breath
a shock went through our hearts,
spot welding electric stars across every
drop of blood splashing
origami sheet metal souls.
