Ensuing journey through battering storms,
Swimming forward as wrecked past floats away,
Washing ashore with tethers detached,
Struggling to right myself in torrents
Hoping for rescue from myself,
Learning to trust, I rise and walk.
Testing my spirit in restless winds,
Finding a trail through sea grass and brambles,
Continuing on till I see a clearing,
Welcoming the fear,
Finding I’m strong; as I’ve begun,
Rising from the fall.
