IN OUR HANDS

HANDS

In our hands we hold the future,

In our hands we held the past,

In our hands we hold the present,

All these things are within our grasp,

The things we do now,

The decision that we make,

Will affect our children’s future,

It’s their future that’s at stake.

With our hands we create beauty,

With our hands we show we care,

With our hands we experience love,

With our hands we give it out to share.

Let us all place our hands together,

And in the quietness let us pray,

For a world of peace and beauty,

That all will experience one day.

Bloodstained Darkness – Promote Yourself

darkness

We go our separate ways
We make our own choices
We see good and bad days
We get past them

Somehow we beat everything
In our way, at times
Sometimes we lose everything
And we try disguise

We make mistakes
We don’t take caution
We ignore the stakes
We learn the lesson the hard way

We leave, we come back
We grow, we learn
We’re all on different tracks
In pursuit of different things

But, we all end up
At the same place
The same bloodstained earth
Just drowning in darkness

news

Through blinds, dark is thinning back
to day – like your hairline. Cold shave.

Microwave the day-old coffee, cornflakes.
Watch the sky live on the morning news

then put the umbrella you will never use
into your rucksack. A voice says

someone somewhere is opening a door
to opportunity. Remind yourself that

they only mean money, to double-check
the house is shut before you leave.

The self-help your grandad gave you
recommends self-actualisation,

not to sweat it. You wipe off
the shaving foam you missed, grab

your charging smartphone, unfriend
a stranger. Click, then click again. Switch off.

Under the sheets, you stirred
like the first time twenty years ago.

Now, you sit on the bus
you are not driving, and feel

empty like a camel long time gone and no way home.

farther I go from her
further I am deep
deep in the darkness and infinite
but the infinite has nothing to keep

the less I talk to her
lesser I have to talk about
the silence comes close to me
wraps me in her arms

I watch you still
from distant places
wishing you would see me
telling you, I will still be
everyday you need me

Stepfather Poems

Me and  my Step father

Being a father is a challenging task, but being a stepfather is even more difficult. He has to make many sacrifices and accept someone else’s child as his own. This takes immense patience, love, understanding, and just a lot of ability in getting along the child. It is definitely not an easy task. As such, stepfathers deserve a special treatment for the compromises that they do. Therefore, on Father’s Day, children who are under the guidance of stepfather must not miss the chance of showing their gratefulness. The most elegant way of treating him is to write a poem expressing thankfulness. Writing poem is not everyone’s cup of tea. Therefore, in the following lines we have provided some stepfather poems to recite or write it inside a card and make them feel glad.

Father’s Day Poems for Stepfather

My Dear Stepdad

To me you are a
Priceless commodity
A wealth of wisdom
You’ve been to me

If I have thoughts
I need to share
Always I know
That you will care

I always enjoy the things
We do together
When done with you
They’re always better

You always have
An open mind
A better stepdad
I could never find

You’re The Stepfather Best

When I need hugs
And a “I Love You”
I go to you for this
Tenderness and caring In you all this exists
You give me confidence
With your reassuring ways
To you I can always
Look to for praise

Thank you my dear stepfather
For showing that you care
A love like yours
Is beyond compare

A Message For My Stepfather

I’m so lucky to have
A stepfather like you
Without you in my life
I don’t know what I’d do

When I need you
You’re there for me
A better stepfather
You couldn’t be

The bond we share
Will always be strong
In my eyes
You can do no wrong

Stepfathers Are No Less Than Those of Blood

Stepfathers are no less than those of blood:
The spirit is more comely than the flesh.
Equally, two mysteries might mesh,
Paired by nature or by neighborhood
Fathers are defined by how they love,
And not by how they multiply or breed.
Though you did not supply the primal seed,
How you’ve loved me does your kinship prove.
Each child must turn when life’s too hard to bear,
Regarding someone’s arms or empty air.
So do I turn, and always you are there.

PROUD TO CALL HIM DAD

 dadxxxxxxxxx

I planted my first acorn when I was only three

One of the first lessons my father taught me

He was an expert in how seeds germinate and grow

He thought this was something everyone should know

I waited patiently for the first leaves to appear

Then he showed me how to tend it with such loving care

I watched that sapling grow into a mighty tree

When I see it now it brings him into my memory

It reminds me of the love that he showed to me

Similar to the care I showed to that saplng tree

By reason of that love the tree reached maturity

And it’s survival to this day reminds me of his memory

It’s many years now since he passed away

But he still enters my mind nearly everyday

His passing was something that made me sad

But he was the one I was proud to call my dad
