‘Wires and weights’ – Promote Yourself

Each weight is a worry

Each wire is its bind

Unable to detach themselves

They pull and they grind

Add another and another

Never allowed to leave

Carried forever forward

The mind is deceived

Push on and keep going

Ignore all the signs

Dragging close behind

Are memories of past crimes

Each one has its tale

And won’t be released

There are two options

Feel pain or face the beast

The first seems less frightening

But of course cannot last

The weights keep on building

The weights of the past

Next comes a wall

The future is blocked

It’s time to turn around

So the weights can be dropped

What must be done

To sever wires bound

Is scary and uncertain

But answers can be found

Denial of those weights

Pushing on through that pain

Inevitably shows itself

Unsustainable and to no gain

Spin and focus

See what’s really there

Addressing those worries

Will release from the snare

Wires can be cut

Weights can be discarded

Walls can be fallen

And the future can be started.

Commercialised Profanity – Promote Yourself

haunted-house (1)
Listen to the sound of the
alerts as you walk down the
street. You know where theyare, painted red with poison
on perfect skin, dashed with
fantasized beauty with a pricetag to match. They watch you with
eyes straight from a haunted house,
wanting to drag you into their

commercialised seduction and make
one hell of a killing. Listen, to
their cries for attention as you

walk into their shops, face their
faceless employees who have less
soul than the coins in your

pocket. Listen without contentment
for their lies of empowerment and
understand that walking like

fabricated oranges on the dance
floor isn’t the idea of personal
satisfaction. Listen to their

words and empty them out into
the manure pile, listen to their
words but don’t listen. Listen

to yourself and enjoy your beauty,
your life, your power without

“The Little Yellow Puzzle…” – Promote Yourself

The sentiments spoken by your heart
affect the inspirations of twilight pines.
Windowed memories collapsing
nervous subtleties of tactile curiosity.
Intricate skeins of golden hair loosening
worlds within the paradise of your skin.
Allow this skipping puzzle to reveal
love’s lost name still dancing in
lofty lullabies within shattered dreams.
Inclined to need…tending this mood as
storms struggle to find their clouds.
Excuse these befuddled lines for merely
reminiscing over shining stars of green…
