About

Poetree Creations was inspired by two people who decided to develop an idea initially from a business course.

The business idea did not develop into a profit-making idea as the current climate did not allow this.

So we decided to take the passion of poetry and develop this creative art and turn it into a workshop and a

successful international poetry website.

By this time we had a committed group of poets who wanted to also promote their work and to have their work

published to the world.

Over a period of two years we grew and eventually gathered 7,000 subscribers.

We found that we had to move to a new website as there wasn’t enough space where we were.

We are developing all of the time and we probably have too many ideas to cope with, however this is the positive side to Poetree Creations.

We would like to thank everyone for following us and would like to wish you you all  good luck in the future and ask you to visit us again, because we are developing like our tree, growing new buds all the time.

We all like to read new poetry, so why not send in  your poetry and join our community. If you would like to send any poetry to us please send to:poetreecreations@yahoo.com

Think positive wherever  you are, and whoever you are,  and always follow your dreams.

From Gillian and Thomas Sims

Just so you know, Uncle Bardie’s a hoot, and he’s got quite a few whoppers in his bag of stories. Some funny, some not so funny. But all told for your entertainment. Thank you for following his blog.

  5. I have nominated you for One Lovely Blog Award. I really enjoy your poetry. There is a logo you can put on yor blog (I know you already have a lot, but I couldn’t see this one) and a suggestion to do a post about it, if you like. I believe this award is something bloggers do to recognise blogs they like. Please let me know if you accept so I can get things over to you.

  21. Hey Gillian and Thomas!

What a great way to not only share your poetry, but also have like-minded individuals come together and share their creativity as well.

    Two questions:

How long have you both been writing poetry? What prompted the initial business idea of PoetreeCreations?

    • Hi Stacia,
I’ve been writing poetry since the age of twelve.Thomas just for a few years. He said I inspired him to write.
It was our passion for writing and we used to run workshops, with puppets and poetry for children, and later run poetry workshops for adults.
It just seemed the natural thing to do next to create a website that would incorporate our passion.

      • It’s something when you can inspire those closest to you. I look forward to catching up on the past art and reading the ones to come.

I hope you guys haven’t given up on the initial transition altogether.

        I’ll be tuned in!,

  24. Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Although my training is in visual arts (painting), I have always loved to write. Whenever I post poems on my blog, I seem to get a lot of enthusiastic responses, which is encouraging to me. I have never officially published any writings, besides posting on the blog for the library system for which I work… The main theme of my blog is musings on the nature of reality, with a special focus on searching for balance (masculine and feminine energies, and so on).

  25. Hi. Thanks for stopping by jamesdorrwriter — I’m happy you enjoyed it. It’s a personal writer’s blog (obviously) but I occasionally add things like movie reviews or accounts of readings, oddities, and even the occasional free sample. So to all, stop by and check it out, tarry a bit if you like and, should the spirit so move, feel free to leave a comment.

  31. Hello there, friends. You were one of the first to follow my blog and you’ve returned and liked quite a few pieces I’ve posted, and just wanted to stop by again and thank you for that.

I am not so great at being part of a “community”. Typically, I try to let my writing speak for itself. I’m new to this sharing and blogging, and looking to promote my blog and expand the readership and traffic.

How does this blog of yours work? Poets email you a piece and if you find it fits with the community you’re building, you post it here to promote their blog?

Thanks again for following my blog and all the likes. Very much appreciated. 🙂

  39. Thanks for following my blog – I appreciate the gesture. This is an interesting site you have going here… How exactly does it work? People simply email works of poetry to be publicized on this site, depending on the quality? Does the contributing individual receive confirmation either way from someone on the other side? Thanks for putting together such a supportive site.
    Cheers,

So I was wondering what the chances are that you’ll feature my post on here?! 🙂
