Pancake day treat

When the children have finished play

They suddenly remember its Pancake day

Inside they run to see all the treats

That will surround their Pancake feast,

Jams fruit and cream a Pancake dream

The children lick their lips

Whilst mum masters the mixture and whips,

All the magic ingredients together

To produce batter as light as a feather

patiently the children wait,

Whilst mother designs and creates

This scrumptious feast

That will knock them off their feet

Once the Pancakes have reached their plates

She relishes in their happy faces

Their eyes light up with such joy

Like Christmas all over when opening their toys.

My broken heart

I have a broken heart

That I have tried so hard to mend

I placed all of my trust in you

I thought you were my friend,

You took your love away

And gave it someone else

I’m now left with a broken heart

That I’ve placed upon the shelf,

Each day I try to repair it

The pieces are scattered everywhere

It will be so hard to mend,

But I’m not going anywhere

So each day I will continue

To fix my broken heart,

Though you will always try

To tear me apart

I hope your new love

keeps her heart intact,

Because,

The truth is…

I never want you back

Forbidden Love

fofbiden love
Hidden secrets
Secret smiles
Smiles hidden
Truth forbidden
Forbidden love
Love secrets
Secret smiles
Smiles hidden
Hidden secrets
Locked tight
Strongest tension
Strangling tight
Tight emotion
Emotion hidden
Secret smiles
Smiles forbidden
No compromise

The Visitor

pumpkinssssssss

A pumpkin knocked at my door
I was shocked, I fell to the floor
The pumpkin had a toothless grin
In the end I asked him to come in
The pumpkin shook my hand
And said I knew you’d understand
I wanted to come to your party
I was all alone
With witches and ghosts
They frightened me
It’s you I’d rather see
Someone warm and bright
On this Halloween night
So what have we got for tea
Trick or treat
It will be a whisky for me

The impossible dream

a_million_penguins_1

I went to a place where penguins were sliding down a chocolate mountain

Where monkeys bathed in a marshmallow fountain,

Where sea – lions swam in an ice cream sea

At the side of a bench, lions were writing  poetry,

As I walked along the sands I found

A giraffe singing, it was the most beautiful sound,

A butterfly kissed my nose,

A lama handed me a red rose.

It was almost like they had been expecting me

Like they had invited me for tea,

When I looked up into the sky

I could not believe my eyes,

Angels flew beneath the clouds

I heard one shout out loud,

Although this is only a dream

Capture every moment and believe,

You can create what you want to achieve

That life is for living the impossible dream

Sunday Afternoon

Jan 1 (5)

I walk to find

 Peace of mind

By the water’s edge,

River bursting from the rain

Still it feels the same

White feathered friends

Swim by my side

Like a dedicated friend,

Creating ripples

Causing no harm

Creating ripples of calm,

A window of still life

Walking by the waters side

A gust of wind now picks up my hair,

I’m in a place where I really don’t care

We should all take the time

To go somewhere tranquil

Searching that  peace of mind

Natures rest

scarcrow

Whilst the lilies blaze

In the summer rays

The butterflies dance

In their summer romance

The robin awaits

The fresh worms to escape

From the ground

They tease, until they are found

Where gardeners sow

Fresh veg to grow

Potatoes, leeks and marrow

The scarecrow stands so proud

Thankful for the sunshine now

He watches with an evil eye

When the birds reluctantly pass by

Roses parade along the fence

Flirting with the bees,

Soaking up their heavy scent

Capturing the moment

Of this summer scene

Spring is in the air

Songbirdwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I feel a spring in my step

Are you feeling it yet?

The temperature is better

According to the weather

The brollies have gone

The blackbird is singing his song

I see more smiling faces

Amongst all the races

People have more energy

Or is this just positive me

The skies look very blue

Do you have a spring in your step too?

Social butterfly

Are you a social butterfly?

Fluttering from tree to tree?

Are you like the Red Admiral?

So bold and daring, fighting to be free?

Or are you trying to escape the chaos
That cities can bring?

Or maybe you are the social butterfly
That has to have everything

Whoever you are, the next time you are
fluttering from tree to tree

Stop to think, where it is that you would
really like to be,

Where it is that you would like to rest your wings

In the city or countryside?

Where you may still continue to be a social butterfly,

Do consider, not breaking too many hearts

Respect this as a brand new start

Sometimes you may have to pay the price,

For being so bold and free

Whenever you flutter from tree to  tree,

It is only you that can decide

Where to settle your wings

It is only you
That can change many things

Magical

wall

Love is like fairies

It is magical

Soft and angelic

Like sweeping snow,

I questioned myself  how do I know?

Then one day I discovered

True love it was like no other

Feeling ever, truly magical

Like a fairy waving a wand

Amongst the snowdrops,

With the birds singing a song

Through the woods

I followed them,

This is where I belonged

With my heart full of love

Singing in the soft breeze,

Watching the fairies dance between the trees

They would put a spell on me,

If true love feels like this

Then this is where I want to be

In a land that is magical to me

Love is…

skip

Love is…

Dancing through the daffodils

Skipping with the lambs

Love is many things

Love is…

Finding that spring in your step

When your heart is leaping

Wherever you may tread

Love is…

Feeling that burning desire

Being with the one you love

To set your emotions on fire

Love is…

That unique feeling

That unique bond

Knowing you belong

Love is…

Picnics in the park

Being together

Underneath the stars

Love is…

Emotion you may discover

Happiness or sadness

Love is a roller-coaster

Love is an experience

To cherish like no other

The deep red rose

LOVE ME

The deep red rose for you I chose,
Drenched in scent
Reminded me of the days we spent
Nestle together amongst rows of heather
Forever I will remember Our innocence
Hiding from our parents
We were the only thing that mattered
You and I colliding with the world outside
Pretending we were perfect
Too nieve to know  what could happen to us
Forgetting about all the fuss,
Parents searching
The world For us
Never mind
We had  spoke,
nestled together,
Amongst rows of heather
Forever I will remember
Our innocence

My Teddy Bear

 BiggestBearNew

You are my teddy bear
So soft and smooth
With love so strong
We have nothing to lose

You are my teddy bear
As soft as silk
You are my goodness
You are my goodnight milk

You are my teddy bear
My midnight hug
You are my comfort
The one I love

You are my teddy bear
The one I like to cuddle tight
You are my teddy bear
That helps me sleep at night

A table for two

Candles lit

A table set for two,

Adrenaline flowing

But where are you?

Champagne on ice

Excitement running high,

Time ticks by

Food looking nice,

Pulses racing

Emotions wavering,

Where are you

When I need you most?

The table is set for two

Shall I dismiss you out of my head?

Is our romance really dead?

Wasn’t any of this really true

When you said I love you?

The table was set for two
