Fish And Chips

downloadseagulls

Has I walk down  Hastings promenade

I stand and watch the fishing trawler net cascade

Seagulls following right behind

Swooping, diving, seeing what they can find

Holiday makers eating chips

Seagulls watch with an eagle eye

Looking at their fish and chips

Or any odd food bits

They will dive, and swoop,

Take a sandwich from your hand

Politeness they do not understand

They will come from miles

To pinch your chips

Happily on your head they will sit

If you come to Hastings or St Leonard on sea

Don’t forget seagulls love fish and chips

Just like you and me

The Pancake Race

The St Anne’s Pancake race 2 -o ‘clock in the Chase

Outside the hut the contestants lined up

There was Ali Charlie and someone from the library

Running as fast as they could

Tossing there Pancakes high in the air,

And out of the blue came two kids pushing a pram

Then the race came out of the Chase and into the park

As the contestants raced past two large dogs started to bark,

Then into the lead came little Tom

We don’t know where he came from.

Wearing a chefs hat, and chequered pants

This race had turned into a merry old dance

The finish was near the crowd gave a cheer,

Home at last the winning post was here

I don’t know who won it could be Ali or Tom?

I bet it will snow this Christmas

snow\

Nottingham Castle

I’ve had a bet

That it will be a white Christmas

The bookie just laughed

but he still took my money

I said don’t laugh

There will definitely be snow

On this Christmas day,

But he gave me odds at 5/2

The bookie thinks he’s funny

Now he has my money

And got one over on me,

But he won’t be laughing

Because the weather forecast

Does forecast snow on Christmas day,

The last time it snowed

In Nottingham was 25 years ago

On Christmas day

No Turkeys left in Norfolk

Turkeys thomas

My turkeys have done a runner

No turkeys as far as the eye can see

Are the little blighter’s hiding away from me?

I rang the Police

I informed the TV

Now their pictures have been made public

For everyone to see

The telephone will not stop ringing me

Because now they have all been spotted

Outside Bernard’s Norfolk turkey factory

I switched on the telly

News flash

GREAT ESCAPE

Bernard’s turkeys on the run

Running around Norfolk having lots of fun

So there will be no turkey

on my plate this Christmas

Just because there’s

no turkeys left in Norfolk

It won’t stop my Christmas fun

Poems about Grandfathers

rocking

One does not have to do anything to become a grandfather. It simply happens when your child has a child. It is up to you to decide how involved you will be in your grandchild’s life. There is an inherent biological relationship but the emotional bonding between grandfather and grandchild comes only with effort. It happens when the grandchild sees that you are open to forming a relationship. It happens when you get off your easy chair and make the effort to see what matters to your grandchild.

My Granddad

You are my Granddad

You are not just a fad

Like an x box, tablet or phone

I know you tend to groan

But you are my Granddad

Who makes me happy and sad

You can be very annoying

But when you’re in the bath

And I hear you sing

I am glad you are around

When I hear that sound

You are like a Victorian pear

You have always been there

Very mellow and soft to touch

Granddad I love you so much

My Dads Dad

My Granddad came to stay

My Dad bought him a card

I’m only four

And not sure

What this card was for

And this puzzled me

Was Granddad doing his family tour

I’m not sure

I’m only four

Was it Granddads birthday

So I asked my dad

To explain to me

What this card was for

He said it’s Fathers day

And your Granddad is daddy to me

Dear father

rays

Father I know that you have left me

But your not far away

You are up there in heaven

looking down on me

But when I really need you

you are always there for me

But when I pray you answer

But I know you really love me

I talk to you

You answer

But you’re not really there

But I know you really love me

But you are now in heaven

And looking down on me

You are by my side

And always guiding me

Dead man’s hand

BUFFALO  BILL

1846 – 1917

A game of poker a deck of cards

52 cards lay upon a table

The cards are dealt

A pair of eights and a pair of aces

The last card lay face down upon the table

A dead man’s hand had just been dealt

A saloon a drink a game of cards,

A pair of eights a pair of aces

A fifth card lay unseen,

Buffalo Bill a legend

A gun fighter and a gambler

His cards lay upon the table

Never to be read,

All you could see was

A pair of eights and a pair of aces,

And the rest is a mystery

And a legend lays dead

So always remember the dead man’s hand

A pair of eights and a pair of aces

And the fifth card face down

Upon the card table

You stole our hearts

With the love you gave

You loved the rewards

When you had behaved

You was our company

For years of many

You was our best friend

Right to the end

We saw you as family

You always protected us

You never once complained

When you was in pain

We will always miss you so

So sorry to let you go

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR KIND COMMENTS IT JUST SHOWS  HOW MUCH YOU CARE

OUR PET RESCUE DOG

Who am I?

Who am I

They say I was a local hero

A local businessman Mr P.E.Clay

Presented me to this fair city

On a hot July day

In 1952

So who am I?

I have stood on the same spot

For the last sixty years

People come and look around

They Stand real close

And they mimic my pose,

So who am I?

I am made of Bronze

I stand seven feet tall.

Made of eight little bits

Only half inch thick,

I weigh half a ton

But vandals keep stealing bits Of me

So who am I?

I have taken from the rich

And given to the poor,

I am a local Nottingham hero

Who the people just adore,

So who am I?

Some say I am bad, some say I am good,

So come to Nottingham Castle

Because my name is Robin Hood

CHRISTMAS NEWS FLASH

NEWSFLASH (1)

Please can you help

Santa’s lost his reindeer

He does not know where to look

He’s even looked up the chimney

And then got covered in soot

So if you have seen his reindeer

Just give him a call

On Lapland 23234

Or go to Santa’s grotto

And knock upon his door

So please help poor Santa

So if you have seen Santa’s reindeer

Just give him a call

On Lapland 23234

The night before Christmas

santa123

It was the night before Christmas

Snow was on the ground

Mum and Dad had gone out

There was only me and Gran in the house

She told me to be good as Santa is around

But when Gran left the bedroom

To the window I rushed,

In the distance a bright light I saw

I was so excited this could be Santa Claus!

Coming to my house

I’ll jump into bed

Bury my head,

Pretend I am asleep,

In the middle of the night

I heard a bang and a creak

I think Santa is back,

The bedroom door flew open

Santa stood there all covered in soot

Holding the largest Santa sack,

He shuffled back out the door

He left presents galore

Scattered all over the floor,

He did not expect to see me

Waiting for him,

Will I still get my Christmas treats?

Will Santa still have his midnight feast

His mince pie and sherry delight?

Merkel was no ordinary turtle

Merkel was no turtle

With her bright orange paint

All she had was an engine

And a loop for a frame

No brakes to stop her

Has she flew down the track

At 74 miles per hour

Wow that was fast

Sadly in 1915 the Merkel flew no more

Because production came to an end

It was then the motorcycle enthusiast

Lost a very good friend
