POETREE is a funeral urn
POETREE is a funeral urn that evolves over time as a companion through the stages of mourning. The ashes are placed in the urn and are covered with soil. The family takes the urn home and plants a tree in it. When the tree is big enough, it is time to plant the urn in a garden or a park. Eventually the urn, which is made of a biodegradable material and ceramic, will disappear, and only the tree and the ceramic top will remain, just like a gravestone.
“A simple and elegant physical manifestation of where emotional intelligence meets not only a poetic idea, but a powerful one that touches the soul of the human condition.” –
It is a great idea indeed! There would be a lot more trees greening the Earth if a tree is planted for every person passing away . . . .

IAW information provided this morning from Bios Urn store, this urn was apparently only a project and was never produced! I can’t help but wonder why it was advertised so well and with people looking to purchase it that someone did not jump on the ball and produce it.

It will be available as a commercial product late 2016

Sorry to reply here, but the posts i liked are tagged “comment off”.
I know something about Robert Frost just now, reading here.
I liked the music in his words and his way of writing, so thank you…
But.
Poetry as funeral urn? No, even if in your words above there is something like a resurrection idea, the same sense, for me, is “poetry – Poetree – as life”.
I don’t like chatting about death is such way … sorry … 🙂

Excellent idea, tastefully thought of, since you Mum has recently passed away, where can I purchase an urn so that I can combine my late father’s ashes with my Mums and once again they can be together

This Really Sucks …….. Want to order one for my Mother-in-law and can’t find out how

Exactly one month ago today, my son was hit by a car. Two days later (February 13th) he was taken off of life support. I have seen other urns like this, however I especially love this one. The design is beautiful (the other ones I’ve seen were “funky” looking) and the metal ring with the engraving is such a fabulous personal touch, which has not been an option with any other ones I’ve looked at. I absolutely do NOT want a substitute. The possibility of using this urn is the only thing that has brought me an ounce of peace since losing my child. PLEASE!!!! How do I order one??

With all due respect, Jessie, the SpiritTree is NOT the same thing as the Poetree, it doesn’t have the marble memorial ring at the base, to inscribe the name and info of the deceased — not to mention that the SpiritTree looks a lot uglier than the Poetree!!

I know it’s not the same thing, but I definitely wouldn’t call it ugly. We’d been looking for a place to buy the Poetree for my Aunt Joyce, and the SpiritTree was the closest thing we could find. While it doesn’t have the marble memorial ring already with it, that would be an easy enough thing to add to the SpiritTree (which is what we’re going to be doing) since it’s actually available for buying.

I’ve tried to find a way to purchase this urn for three years now. I can find plenty of people and blogs that write about it, but no actual site that offers it for sale. Please list or send the information required that will help me to accomplish this goal. Thank you very much for such a wonderful idea, and thank you even more for your effort in this matter.
