It will be lonely this Christmas

It will be lonely this Christmas

Because my wife will not be by my side,

6 x 6 foot room

With four grey walls surround me

A prison cell

That’s why it will be lonely this Christmas

Because last year I got drunk

And knocked A little child  down,

So It will be lonely this Christmas

I deserved what I got,

3 years in prison that’s isn’t a lot

I took child’s life,

So That’s why I can’t see my wife

I will be lonely this Christmas,

That’s what I have to sacrifice

By Thomas Sims

The moral of this poem

PAST MEMORIES

DruryLaneMan

I went back to the town
Where I once lived
I hitched a lift on a lorry
That seemed to be
Travelling my way,
We reached the outskirts
Of the town
No-one was around,
The lorry driver dropped me off
With a toot and a wave
He drove onto
The motorway,
As the street lights shone bright
I turned right
Into the street where I once lived
Some thirty years ago,
The house was still there
But looked kind of bare,
The door was still painted Blue
But windows were new,
Then the door opened wide
And I glanced inside,
To my surprise
It all remained the same
As I remembered it
Thirty years ago,
When I bought this house
I had money and fame
But nothing remains the same,
The good times had gone to my head
I remember the drink, the drugs,
And the shame,
That brought me down to my knees
So I’m asking you please,
Don’t live in the past
Because the good times
Will never last

Drink again – Promote Yourself

drink

Drink, again,

It’s in my hand.

Down my throat

And into my brain.

Drink, again,

It’s easier to eat.

Down my throat

And into the sink.

Drink, again.

To block out thoughts.

Don’t look at

The world that hurts.

Drink, again,

For something to do.

Let’s kill time,

I’ll get drunk with you.

Drink, again,

To forget I’m  sad.

See this smile?

It’s all I have.

Drink, again,

I can’t help but cry.

I know now

What I held inside.

Drink, again,

It has all gone.

Down my throat

Until the next one.

Writing is everything to me and poetry gives me that release I need. I hope you enjoy my poem, and for more, please visit The Skinny Fat Girl  (www.mygardenofedan.wordpress.com

Anti-social behaviour

Please don’t
drink to the brink and waste your time

Inviting
yourself into the world of crime,

Don’t hang
around with people who

Drain your
energy and lead you to,

Do all the
wrong things that can hurt others,

Don’t
despair, there is a world out there

For you to
discover,

If only you
would take the time

To use your
energy positively,and open your mind,

Search for
creativity, education or sport

Sit yourself
down,and give it some thought
