Bonfire Night
As we celebrate bonfire night
Let us remember when it all began
Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament
The government of the day was not a fan
His attempt to destroy failed
For his treachery he was hung
Today we all celebrate bonfire night
With everyone having lots of fun
With fireworks and sparklers
Jumping jacks, bangers and mushy peas
The fire burning lightening up the sky
See the rockets flying over the trees
The smell of bonfire toffee
Fireworks displaying so bright
The fire well alight now
Lightning up the darkest night
Remember to be careful
For fireworks can burn and maim
Let your parents light them all
Keeping all away from hurt and pain

Bump – Promote Yourself
The shock when I saw two pink lines,
The tears of confusion, what to do now,
Am I happy or sad, am I ready for this?
Our lives will change, suddenly a future with kids,
There’s no choice the bond is already strong,
Now praying that nothing goes wrong,
Now it’s all exciting, is it a girl or boy?
I cannot wait to meet our little bundle of joy.

Toys’ and things
When it came to holidays
Mama had everything under control,
Baking cookies, wrapping presents
Even decorating the hall.
Christmas Eve kept everyone busy
And the house full of holiday cheer.
Papa and Jimmy left at daybreak
On the hunt for the perfect deer.
We’d wake up Christmas morning
Feeling the keen sense of surprise,
Excitement in our hearts
The minute we opened our eyes.
In our pajamas, hair all a muss,
We stretched and yawned, still half asleep.
Out of bed before Mama and Papa
We managed a sneaky little peek.
Catching sunbeams through the open window
Were the branches of a scrawny little tree.
Underneath were handmade toys ’n’ things,
The most thankful sight we ever did see.

THE TRUTH: – Promote Yourself
We’re left alone
every day
dad’s at work
mom at the store
uncle getting his fix
but where are the kids?
you expect when you ignore them
they’ll enjoy it
when you tear them down
they’ll ignore it
when you leave them alone
that they’ll be okay
but when you create these
bruises and contusions
and SO MANY SCARS
they’re not as strong as you think they are
so when you come home
there will be blood on the wall
pills on the floor
a rope on the tree
your babygirl, gone
“your princess” me.
but don’t fret now
you have all eternity
to tear me down
call me names
place the blame
play some games
and use my death for fame.
