Lest we forget

Have we forgotten their ultimate sacrifice?
Of these men and women who died in their millions?
Brave and true, without question,
proud to be British, not ashamed to be Christian.

So many years have passed,
it seems our memory doesn’t last.
Forgetting these courageous people, to our shame.
Why can’t we remember their names?

How short is our memory?
That we have forgotten them already?
Died in their millions fighting for our freedom,
believing in our free democratic ideology.

What does it take to wake up this country,
to rise once again from its complacency?
How much more do we take, before we decide to fight,
for our beliefs, our traditions and our liberty?

A Martian makes his mark on Nottingham

A Green Martian came to Nottingham

To made his mark upon the land,

He landed in the castle court-yard

And was surrounded by Robins merry band,

They were all dressed in green

That made the Martian scream,

They laughed and pointed at the Martian

But the Martian said I come in peace,

So please take me to your leader

Then Robin came from around the corner

With tankard in his hand,

Robin told the Martian

I’ve just come from the Trip To Jerusalem,

You must have come to join my merry band

Which the Martian did not really understand.

Thank you for the flowers

Thank you for the flowers,

Their fragrance smelt so sweet,

Your kindness I will treasure,

Until once more we meet.

The sorrow you have shown,

The tears that you have shed,

No words need be spoken,

For in those tears all was said.

Try to understand,

That life will carry on,

My spirit has entered a better place,

Although my bodies gone.

My life must continue,

To achieve the very best,

But first I must compose myself,

And take a well earned rest.

Such a lot to do,

Of that I am sure,

For time does not stand still,

But carries on for ever more.

It is time

It is time to give

To the less fortunate than ourselves

It is time to pray

For all the hungry people in the world

It is time for peace

To unleash

All of the anger we hold within

It is time

To forget our needs

Let the poor breathe

Good  health

Let their faces sparkle

From wealth

It is time

When the world

Should be sowing a seed

To dismiss all the greed

To concentrate on peace

It is time to sow a seed of hope

To let all the bad things go

It is time to bring happiness

It is time I know

New Year

lob A new year to look forward to

What surprises will it bring?

All that you wish for

I hope you receive everything

I would like to see peace

Spread through out the land

To understand other cultures

So all will walk hand in hand

To see that hunger and starvation

Disappear from the face of the earth

A greater understanding is needed

For vision of this new birth

I hope that the scourge of disease

That famine and decay

Will no longer be a problem

And will disappear one day

These things I am sure you wish for

And maybe in our time we shall see

A step forward in thinking

That will benefit you and me

Drums – Promote Yourself

drumsxxxxxxxxxxx

I prayed for grey
that the sun would go away
i prayed for rain.
I prayed for cold, i prayed for snow
housebound, to be alone.

mean it or not, plea or prayer
i prayed for strength – i prayed for fresh air.
i lesson to teach: how to forgive
a lesson not learned – a lesson believed.

unanswered words, were given to me
the only truth – which it could give
answer beyond, does not exist…

(shouting) silent and blood on my tips
rips on my fingers, sheets torn to bitts.
(chaos) inside lies peace
but inside is the one place i cannot reach.

I prayed for a storm
i prayed for the sounds
electricity, fire, water, clouds

shut my eyes, so hear the drums
playing loud where used to be the sun.

Finding Peace

tearxxxx
The long road represents time
With every narrow passing
A piece of life becomes sublime
Its nature is to reckon our liking
~
We raise our children to bring the future
Presence into our hearts and mind
Knowing their lives evolve only to assure
Beyond the comforts of home left behind
~
A quiet melody breaks when love is erased
A soft heart weeps at a moment’s loss
The tears of love will forever be embraced
As we are finding peace; Spiritual cross
~
The emotional netting of family now knows expanse
A child’s tear ventures upon life’s passionate chance

A Little Prayer – Promote Yourself

prayerxxxxxxx

Before I sleep, when the night’s at peace;
I caIl on Him with the dancing bees;
I don’t do this for you to be pleased;
but for me to be able to live with ease.
Trials and hardships have tested my faith;
A way out isn’t a problem ‘cause there is to create;
There are a lot of things that I wish to state;
but it is for you to discover, so go and change the fate!
As time passes by, we all move along;
Trying to find the place where we really belong;
Some are confused but please don’t get them wrong;
Because they couldn’t have seen yet the lyrics of the song.
There are problems that seem to last forover;
Stand up, face them, be strong and clever;
Don’t forget that you can cry on His shoulder;
You’ll feel a lot better when you say a little prayer.

The Window – Promote Yourself

windowxxxxxxxx

I can feel the cold breeze,
As I open the window to reminisce.
Remembering everything we had together
And I just can’t accept that you are now in peace.

You always let me pass through that window.
You said I am a child whom should know
That it is better to rain than to snow,
But the drizzle in my heart will never go.

Being strong is what you taught me
Until I realized that it is not the real me
I am weak; I can’t even try to skii.
I just tried harder for you to see.

I didn’t imagine what my life could be
Without you beside me.
Now I am here crying in front of the tree
Because I know I can’t have you back for free.

Everyday I wish to be with you
Chatting, laughing and playing are what we used to do.
In my heart there is always you,
But now all I can say is Adieu.

JUST BREATHE! – Promote Yourself

honeysucklexxxxxxx
Inhale.
Sea air, honeysuckle, and new born babies.
Exhale.
Rampant cynicism, vehicle emissions, and politicians’ “maybes.”
Inhale.
Males’ musky scent, fishermen’s fresh catch and horses’ sweat.
Exhale.
Polluters, collateral damage and mental health neglect.
Inhale.
Maple tree sap, buttercup sweetness and children’s gladness.
Exhale.
Enflamed fear, limitations and media madness.
Inhale.
Clean sand, lavender fields and sunflower seeds.
Exhale.
Violent anger, narrow-mindedness and worldwide greed.
Inhale.
Giving people, bridge-makers and quiet ways.
Exhale.
Lonely nights, endless fights and desperate days.
Inhale. Exhale.
Inhale. Exhale.
Inhale.
Peace.
