I watched the sun arising
Within the morning sky
A chilly breeze caressed my face
As the shadows of the sun passed by

All was quiet and peaceful
As I felt the warmth upon my face
I was in oar at the reflections
As they danced all over the place

As the sun arose in all its glory
Clouds of fluffy white appeared
Drifting slowly across the sun
Not a sound could be heard

I found all this very relaxing
Because we take nature for granted
We can sometime forget
At the beauty she has planted

It instils the very soul with energy
It opens our very censors to see
With a sense of clear vision
Without nature it just would not be

The Snow

See the snow
Its a blanket, soft and white
Falling slow
Covering the world, making it bright

Hear the snow
Crunching underneath feet
Children throw
The snow in the street

Smell the snow
The freshening scent
As the steady flow
Makes my heart content

Feel the snow
Powdery, it freezes your toes
As the blanket starts to grow
And the cold wind blows

Taste the snow
The way it makes the world look clean
Still cold though,
Makes the world, a beautiful scene

Love the snow
When I see it snowing all day
I just know
That everything is going to be okay

The Forecast

The sun was setting in the western sky
A sky which had taken on a scarlet hue
Many people looked forward with anticipation
Hoping the old saying would come true
For a red sky at night was said to give shepherds delight
For good weather on the morrow was expected
There was no weather forecast in days of old
Study of the clouds was the way weather patterns were detected
And when folk awoke to skies of grey
Or a sky showing red tints in the morning
They expected that bad weather was on its way
For a red sky at that time was known as the shepherd’s warning
The old saying invariably comes true
In forecasting what the weather will be
It might not be based on scientific evidence
But is usually as good as that on the radio or TV

My sneaking tears

How heavy fell the rain that day
From burdened clouds of mournful grey.
The torrent forced them stay their height –
Composure swayed by onerous might.

My skin wrung wet with icy chill
As mud embraced that sodden hill;
But mind of mine had elsewhere gone –
‘Twas clouds abandoned I was on.

The driving drops advanced their gears
To camouflage my sneaking tears –
Whence now did swell such floods of pain
To see me melt into this rain…

On equal bearing now were we:
This rain, myself, in harmony.

Snow Blizzard

Snow is falling
Making it hard to see
The temperature is dropping
To negative digits
Winds are picking up
Swirling snow into piles
Having little finger drifts
Cover the roads
Hiding the ice patches
That are dangerous
To most drivers
Kids are no where
To be found
Only adults
Out on the driveways
With red and blue shovels
Scooping up snow
And throwing it off to the side
These winter storms
That most people fear
Are the cold and miserable
Snow blizzards

Now is here —
A fine new start
For a whole new year.
The snow comes down
In the dark of night.
When we awake
The world is white.
In January
When there’s snow,
We get our sleds
And away we go.
