I Am The Shadow – Promote Yourself

shadow3333

I am the shadow,
I exist in a world of light,
Blending into the darkness of night.

My face you cannot see,
My expressions, sometimes misleading.

If you hear a whisper in the wind,
It may be me.

I am the shadow,
I exist in a world of sounds, good and bad.
Of laughter,
Crying,
Shouting,
Singing.

You think that I feel nothing,
No love,
No hate,
No anger,
No fear,
No pain.
But you are wrong.

You think that I do not cry,
But I weep silently.
You cannot see the tears that slide down my cheeks,
But they are there.

I am the shadow, you cannot touch,
Always within sight but never within reach.

I am the shadow, afraid to trust the light for it distorts me.
Please forgive me if I trick you,
I cannot control it.

I long to live in the light,
To be held and loved,
But I am only a silent shadow,
Watching but unable to take part in it all,
What others do, I can only dream of.

So I lurk in corners,
Ignored,
Misunderstood.
Always waiting for the night to come,
Always dying but never dead.

I am the shadow, I have no friends,
Even in a crowd, I’m all alone.
Existing in somber shades of gray,
A lonely shadow,
I’m doomed to stay.

Wild Skies

stormysky

Feel life brisk
High pressure settle in
Crisp, autumn morning
With blasts
Draping serious skies
Winter’s scorn is upon us all
A heaviness basks in air
Time now
Time asks for preparation
Nestling
When once we were alone …
~
Quiet morning sun piques behind
Wandering winds
Haunting as the settling sky
Corrals summer’s eve
While we wait upon
A long and slow March
The dusty road turns cold …
~
The winds of autumn reckoning
Each season’s sweet serenity

Sunrise

davids sunset

Take a look at the sunrise,

It’s a picture of sheer delight,

The colours are so exquisite,

As the day says farewell to the night.

Stand in amazement of its brilliance,

As nature performs her task,

A planet within our universe,

In space that is so vast.

The sun is very special,

It keeps our planet warm,

It sustains all nature,

Through wind, rain, and storm.

The planet would be very dark,

Nothing on earth would grow,

For the earth would be very cold,

Covered by ice and snow.

Everything moves like clockwork,

Moving together as one,

Like a well oiled machine,

It journey’s forever on.

The sun has always risen,

And million years to come,

Life on this planet would be miserable,

If it wasn’t for the warmth of the sun.

Blow, blow, thou winter wind – your favourite poem

Blow, blow, thou winter wind
Thou art not so unkind
As man’s ingratitude;
Thy tooth is not so keen,
Because thou art not seen,
Although thy breath be rude.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly:
Most freindship if feigning, most loving mere folly:
Then heigh-ho, the holly!
This life is most jolly.

Freeze, freeze thou bitter sky,
That does not bite so nigh
As benefits forgot:
Though thou the waters warp,
Thy sting is not so sharp
As a friend remembered not.
Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly:
Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly:
Then heigh-ho, the holly!
This life is most jolly.
