Ever pray for patience?
Uh huh…you too eh?
i won’t ask what happened, suffice to say you have my deepest sympathies
You see…
This is something we pray for before we know any better
And by that i mean before reading the book of Job
No one told me i should start in the New Testament, might’ve but i guess i was too impatient to listen
i’ve been learning patience on a whole new level
Oh, i’ve lost track of when i prayed that prayer…the precise year?
i almost wished at times that HE had not so keen an ear
i see no end to it…
Not in this lifetime any who.
In the strangest of ways
Through the most unlikely of means
Whether it be people, places or things
Unexpected, unanticipated messengers…
One day i just realized that somehow i was becoming more “patient”
With learning “patience”
And instead of feeling burdened by trials
Actually becoming more liberated by them and grateful for the experience.
The beauty of it is until just “now” reflecting on this as i write this i find myself redefined,
for i am taken aback by this apparent newfound patience not to want to rush ahead,
Of what is…
“being”
“Given”
“now”
(so weird)
i learned that it didn’t matter so much what i did or didn’t do, what happened to me or didn’t happen for me
But what Jesus did
and whether or not i was saved,
there is nothing that you cannot endure in Christ by Grace.
(1 Corinthians 10:13)
